Office cubicles get a bad rap. Some people see them as a step down from a private office. There are fewer chances for a worker to express his or her personality in a cubicle versus an entire private office. You won’t be able to choose your own office furniture or take advantage of decorating all four walls. However, you can still make your office cubicle your own by using some of our awesome decorating tips:
1. Use your computer screen as an extra “wall”
If the company you work for is quite conservative when it comes to office décor, you won’t want to totally go nuts in your office cubicle. However, there are still tiny ways that you can inject your personality into your cubicle, and one of them is by utilizing your computer screen. Choose a screensaver picture or series of photographs that remind you of things you love. Pick pictures of loved ones or beautiful sunsets to add some zing into your office cubicle.
2. Express yourself through lighting
Most office cubicles are well-lit; however, you may be missing the warm glow of a personal lamp. Use this opportunity to select a colorful, exciting lamp that expresses your creativity and personality. Choose a lamp that has some beads or fringe hanging off of it for some extra spice.
3. Throw some life into your space
Sometimes, all your office cubicle needs is a little bit of extra life. Invest in a plant and/or small fish to bring in to your personal office cubicle. There are many plants such as ivy violet plants that are small yet bright enough to give event the tiniest cubicle oomph. If you’re more of an animal person, go to your local pet store and look into getting a beta or Siamese fighting fish. These fish are very easy to take care of and can help to make your cubicle a livelier space.
These are just three ideas of how to decorate your office cubicle so that it’s not bland and gray. What other ideas can you think of?
